MELBOURNE, Australia – Gatorade has redefined the Formula 1® fan experience with the launch of Run The Track, a first-of-its-kind mass participation event that gave thousands of runners the opportunity to take on the iconic Albert Park Circuit during Australian Grand Prix race week.
Bringing together two high-performance sporting worlds – running and motorsport – the experience invited participants to complete a full lap of the world-famous circuit, offering a new way for fans to connect with the energy, excitement and atmosphere of Formula 1.
As a brand dedicated to fuelling athletic ambition and performance, Gatorade created Run The Track to inspire people to challenge themselves and experience what it feels like to step onto one of sport's biggest stages.
Designed as a premium, professionally managed running experience, participants completed a timed lap of the Albert Park Circuit, supported by Gatorade hydration throughout the event. Race-inspired moments, including track lights, live commentary and the presence of the official Mercedes-AMG Safety Car, helped create an atmosphere usually reserved for the world's best drivers.
The event also featured appearances from athletes, ambassadors and creators, including Australian trail runner Majell Backhausen, broadcaster Kate McCarthy and Gatorade Chief Hydration Officer Dan Gorringe, who helped bring the experience to life.
Run The Track forms part of Gatorade's ongoing commitment to creating innovative experiences that celebrate sport, movement and performance. Delivered in partnership with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and Formula 1®, the activation demonstrates how Gatorade continues to find new ways to inspire and engage athletes and fans alike.
By opening one of Australia's most iconic sporting venues to the running community, Gatorade transformed the Albert Park Circuit into a stage where everyday athletes could experience the excitement, intensity and achievement that come with chasing performance at the highest level.
